The Y is a non-profit charitable organization that strengthens the foundations of our community. SUMMER CAMP JOBS:
Here you will be able to put your experiences, abilities, creativity and energy to work and discover the talents within yourself as you touch the lives of those around you. The YMCA of Greater Brandywine has many job opportunities including seasonal, part-time and full-time, each featuring incredible benefits and coworkers that will quickly feel like family.

CAMP FACILITIES: We have a modern dorm and two modern longhouse facilities, as well as two more rustic dorms. We have a large Dining Hall facility, and a brand new Children's Ministry Building (fit for indoor sports and recreation, as well as meeting places). Additionally, the camp has 200 privately owned cottages, three large RV lots, a large soccer field and baseball field, disc golf and mini golf courses, basketball courts, volleyball courts, and a gaga ball pit. There are two tabernacles, the Main Tabernacle and Youth Tabernacle, for services. The Susquehanna River serves as a great place for swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and tubing.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Mahaffey Camp offers a variety of programs, from summer youth camps and family camp to year-long retreats and events. Our staff is a dedicated group of people who are passionate about serving campers of all ages and leading them to a vibrant experience with God. Our mission is "to reach others with the Gospel and teach them about the Lord." Mahaffey Camp aims to be "A Christian Center for Spiritual Growth." Mahaffey Camp is a member of the Christian Camp and Conference Association.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Those who wish to be considered as Counselors or Jr. Counselors should contact the camp office promptly, as available positions fill up quickly. Counselors and Jr. Counselors are required to attend a mandatory Counselor Training weekend, held at the end of May or beginning of June. Teen Counselors and Jr. Counselors are expected to attend a youth camp of their own age group.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: For scholarship assistance, please contact the camp office. We have a scholarship fund that is used to help sponsor campers who are experiencing financial hardship and need assistance to be able to attend camp.

FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): Mahaffey Family Camp takes place during the last full week of July every year; in 2018, the dates are July 20 through 29. Events and services are offered for all age groups throughout the 10 days. Special events include a 5k race, Motorcycle Rally, Missionary Rally, Women's Day, Children's Penny Parade, Baptismal Service, and Gospel Concert. The camp store and Dining Hall are open for meals every day, and the craft store (selling merchandise and handmade crafts to benefit camp) is open daily. Dorm Accommodations are available, as well as RV and tent sites. Different types of services are offered, including Adult morning and evening services, prayer and healing services, Teen morning and evening services, Children's ministries, and Fresh Breeze afternoon service.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Youth Camps are held in the summer, while many retreats are held throughout the rest of the year. Mahaffey offers a variety of different retreats and events, including Applefest, Quilt Retreats, Scrapbook Retreats, Men's Link, Prayer Retreat, Mother / Daughter Retreat, REPLENISH (youth winter retreat), and private horsemanship lessons. Additionally, facility use at Mahaffey Camp is available for events such as banquets, youth/church retreats, Dorm stay, group stay, conferences, etc. Contact the camp office to book a retreat or event.

CAMP FACILITIES: Camp Galil is set in the beautiful fields and forests of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, about one hour from both Philadelphia, New York City, and most New Jersey addresses.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Galil is a kibbutz atmosphere that focuses on cooperative living. It is a community of young people from all streams of Jewish life.

One key to our success is our unique "youth leading youth" formula. Grounded in our historic and dynamic partnership with Habonim Dror Labor Zionist Youth, Camp Galil truly "walks the walk" of youth leadership by empowering our talented counselors to plan and implement all aspects of Camp Galil's educational program.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Madatz is our Leadership Training Program for campers finishing 11th grade. The madatz program offers our future counselors an intense training program in leadership and a wonderful opportunity to experience living and working together as a group.

We also are off campus every day at nearby Raystown Lake for Wake boarding, sailing, windsurfing, and other waiter sports.

OTHER CAMP INFO: Stone Mountain Adventures is a co-ed residential camp for 60 teenagers ages 12-16 located in the mountains of central Pennsylvania. We are a very active summer community and do a good job of getting campers excited about all aspects of camp from our adventure and sport activities to going roller skating to going white water rafting together as a group. As with many aspects of teenagers lives our camp is also a very social place and we work hard to model and encourage positive relationships, create community in an authentic way, stop cliques from developing, and take away many of the traditional pressures that teens feel in school. The result is that campers feel a new found freedom to explore who they truly are while at the same time feeling like they have a new �home away from home� at Stone Mountain Adventures.

YMCA Camp Soles is a traditional YMCA camp in the Laurel Highland Mountains of southwestern Pennsylvania. We offer high quality and affordable day, overnight, and family camp programs. CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Being a CIT at YMCA Camp Soles gives you a unique training opportunity that will serve you well should you ever desire to return as a camp counselor, work in day care or after-school programs, or become a coach or mentor for younger kids. Our CIT program is specifically designed for teens who are interested in working with kids. We teach critical counseling skills, behavior management, and instruction techniques.

Being a CIT is about learning practical skills that you will hone at camp. For example, you will work with our staff as assistant instructors in the various program areas across Camp Soles. You will also be assigned a cabin to help with everything from running activities to working with homesick campers. Camp is after all about learning through positive relationships and our counselors are role models for our CITs as much as they are for campers.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: At the Y, no child or family is turned away due to inability to pay. That holds true at YMCA camps as well. Realizing that different families have different abilities to pay, we created a three tier pricing program. Based on an honor system, your family chooses which tier you can afford. Tier placement does not change any aspect of the experience your child will receive. It is a way to ensure that every child can access the same opportunities.

SUMMER CAMP JOBS:
YMCA Camp Soles is more than just a summer camp. We are a home to a lucky few, and home away from home for many more. Our staff members come from various local universities as well as out of state and as far as Australia and Europe. Working at camp can be life changing.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Westmont has been owned and operated by the Moskowitz family since its inception in 1981. Nestled in the heart of the beautiful Pocono Mountains in Wayne County, PA, Camp Westmont is situated on 400 acres of gently rolling hills with a private 100-acre lake. Westmont provides a fun-filled summer of varied activities for campers ages 6 through 16. Westmont is a co-ed camp with two very distinct campuses – boys on Boys Side and girls on Girls Side. All of our activities are on-site so Westmont’s campers do not need to travel off property to enjoy their daily activities. In 2008, Chestnut Lake opened its gates as the Northeast’s premier session camp located in the northeast corner of Pennsylvania, just 2 ½ hours from NYC and Philadelphia.

Camp SAY was established with one goal in mind – to provide children who stutter with a highly immersive and accepting summer camp experience that builds self-confidence and helps children develop the vital communication skills they need to fully express themselves without fear, bullying or ridicule.

Complementing our wide range of exciting traditional camp activities, Camp SAY provides each child with unique experiences that challenge them in a safe way, creating a strong sense of achievement and helping them confidently navigate the unique issues that children who stutter face in the everyday world.

STAFF
The staff is dedicated to creating a safe and accepting environment where every child can find their beautiful and unique voice. Approximately 80% of children return to camp. Parents and campers tell us it’s our staff and unique approach that consistently exceed expectations, making Camp SAY such a rewarding and transformative experience.

We provide an excellent Staff-to-Camper Ratio: With Camp’s leadership team, camp counselors, specialized activities staff and more, our staff-to-camper ratio is 1 staff member for every 2-3 campers. In addition, each bunk is staffed at night with at least 2 counselors for an average of 6-10 campers.

Counselors complete a comprehensive training program to support the social, emotional and physical needs of all our campers. Staff development includes leadership training and extensive information about stuttering, camper health and safety, camp philosophy, policies and procedures and much more. Additionally, Specialized Activities Staff is carefully selected based on their skills and expertise.

OTHER CAMP INFO: Meals: Camp SAY provides a wonderfully balanced meal plan with great options that kids will enjoy. In addition to the delicious main meals, we provide tasty snacks at key times during the day. We can accommodate a broad range of food restrictions to ensure that your child’s experience at Camp SAY is truly memorable.

Talented Nursing Team: Your child’s safety and well being is our highest priority. Our camp is staffed by a full-time, on-site registered nurse who can properly dispense any family-provided medications and can access medical specialists as needed.

Traveling to Camp SAY: Campers come from all around the country and abroad. We work closely with families to make each child’s trip to Camp SAY as safe and enjoyable as possible. We schedule a chaperoned flight from the southeast to New York City. Children taking individual flights are welcomed at the gate by camp staff. Upon arrival at the airport, camp staff helps navigate baggage claim, arrange check-in for return flights, and board campers on the bus for a fun trip to Camp SAY.

Our Personalized Approach: In order to fully personalize your child’s camp experience, our team obtains detailed preferences in advance of camp from you and your child – from their activities to seemingly small yet important details. For example, children who have birthdays at Camp SAY are celebrated with a group birthday song and birthday cake.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: For 60 years, B'nai B'rith Perlman Camp has become the second home for campers and staff alike. Join the Perlman Camp family today, and experience Jewish overnight camping at its best! Since 1954, Perlman Camp has created a fun and inclusive family atmosphere, which provides opportunities for growth and the development of a positive self-identity. CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: We have a two year Leadership Program at Perlman Camp. The first year is the Pioneer program, for campers entering into 11th grade. They live on platform tents in the foods, cook their own meals, create their own programming and spend 3 weeks in Israel. Campers going into 12 grade participate in our Staff-In-Training (SIT) program. The spend the summer learning the values of being a counselor, transitioning from camper to staff and then living in the bunks for the last 3 weeks of camp.

Located on Camp Kweebec’s 200+ acres in Schwenksville, Pennsylvania, Summer L.I.F.E. offers campers with special needs the opportunity to cultivate friendships within the context of traditional camp activities, such as fishing, swimming, boating, arts and crafts, sports and games, cooking and environmental education.

Transportation for the day camp is provided to and from our Malvern campus and the camp property in Schwenksville. Families also may choose to drop off and pick up their campers at Camp Kweebec daily.

Families of overnight campers are responsible for transportation to the camp property on Sundays. Families may choose to pick overnight campers up at the camp property or at our Malvern, Pennsylvania campus on Fridays.

Summer L.I.F.E. offers low camper-to-staff ratio, experienced camp staff, ongoing behavior support, structured daily programming, engaging activities and real world learning. Staff includes PA certified special education teachers, a full-time nurse and behavioral support specialists.

OTHER CAMP INFO: Many, but not all, of our campers have been diagnosed with high-functioning autism or Asperger’s Syndrome and have difficulty connecting with their peers. OTHER CAMP INFO: Camp Lenni Lenape, located in Kennett Square at the Kennett Area YMCA provides campers from ages 18 months through 8th grade with a summer they'll never forget. Campers have an opportunity to make friends and participate in a variety of camp activities including: arts & crafts, sports, free swim, field games, community service and weekly themed activities.

Camp CLenni Lenape runs for 11 weeks from June 13 through August 26 and registration for camp is done by the week to allow families flexibility to select camp weeks that work for them. Camp Lenni Lenape also offers aquatics and junior lifeguarding specialty camps. Camp runs from 9 AM - 4 PM each day, aftercare is included in the price of camp. Camp Fit & Fun’s goal is to provide children with an exciting, diversified and wholesome camping experience. We feel it is essential to blend wholesome, challenging and cultural programs into the day.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp America provides a comprehensive day camp program that promotes the social, cultural, physical and emotional development of children, ages 2 1/2 to 15. we recruit the best counselors and supervisors to help campers as they learn, laugh and play. We offer activities in the best environments possible. We strive to give campers a fun and nurturing experience, enhanced self-esteem, friendship skills, greater independence and a sense of their creative potential. Camp America is accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA), an award held by only 25% of camps nation wide. Accreditation requires compliance with the highest quality program, health and safety standards. We have a superior safety record - a record you can trust!

Camp America enjoys an excellent reputation because we hand pick the best people to serve you and your family. Many of our counselors are state certified teachers. Our food managers are certified by the Bucks County Board of Health. All of our instructors have specialized training in their areas of expertise. A full-time Registered Nurse and well stock infirmary are available during regular camp hours. Our staff members are experienced, highly qualified leaders who model friendship and consideration of others to all children. As positive and caring leaders, our counselors and supervisors display the sensitivity required to work well with children meeting their social, emotional and physical needs.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Our CIT (counselor in training) program is a learning and transition program for 13, 14 and 15 year-olds. CIT's are organized into groups of 15 boys or girls and get to experience the best of two world's at camp. The counselors for these groups are chosen for their mature, yet youthful, outlooks. A CIT day encompasses work experience, bunk activities including lunch and swimming, as well as sport and recreational periods. CIT's work with both specialist and bunks developing leadership and organizational skills. Daily bunk-time activities include co-ed games, group meetings and discussions, swim and water games, as well as, other recreational opportunities. As the oldest campers, CIT's are rewarded with day trips and after-hours activities supervised by their counselors, division leaders and other staff.

OTHER CAMP INFO: Camp America provides transportation or early and late care options. A discount is offered for parents who choose to provide their own transportation during regular camp hours.

Camp Leo runs for 11 weeks from June 13 through August 26 and registration for camp is done by the week to allow families flexibility to select camp weeks that work for them. Camp Leo also runs a STEAM specialty camp. Camp runs from 9 AM - 4 PM each day, aftercare is included in the price of camp. Before care is available for a nominal fee. YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Tyler Hill hosts various winter and spring get-togethers in New York, New Jersey and Florida for our campers to reunite and for new campers to connect with one another.
