CAMP FACILITIES: The camp takes place on Columbia University's campus. Campers use its Division I athletic facilities including two gyms, squash courts, track, dance studios, pool, and lawns. Cubs Camp is an excellent place to expose young campers to Columbia University Athletics!

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Little Lions Camp is a kid-centered, fun-based day camp that’s main focus is keeping kids physically and creatively active. Programming features an ever changing combination of classic PE games, backyard favorites, sports, arts and crafts, and special surprises to keep kids happy, active, and engaged. A highly-trained, eclectic staff, that utilizes physical education teachers, athletes, camp veterans, creative types and child care specialists, ensures that games are always changing and that counselors can tailor programming to fit children’s needs and likes.

What is kid-centered programming? Kid-centered programming means our camp staff plans daily programming with the kids likes and dislikes in mind, but daily schedules might change based on camper preference. Wednesday at 2 o’clock might mean a trip to the track, but if the campers vote to play capture the flag for the third day in the row, our counselors are trained to be flexible and receptive. Little Lions Camp is about promoting a safe, welcoming environment that allows kids to participate in the activities that engage them the most.

What is fun-based? Our camp isn’t about shooting the perfect basket or running the fastest in a relay, it’s about being active and trying new things while having fun doing both. Staff will recognize children’s skills and achievements, but our goal is to promote fun and positive relationships.

Staff includes teachers, graduate, undergraduate students, and Varsity student-athletes. Our staff has extensive experience working with children of all ages, both in the camp setting and in the classroom. Little Lions Camp maintains a maximum leader to camper ratio of 1:10 to provide all children with a positive camp experience and the professional attention they deserve. In addition, a certified athletic trainer and aquatic director will be on site.

CAMP FACILITIES: Students live in wooden cabins equipped with bunks, electricity, and limited storage space. Students are housed four to six per cabin (8:1; Counselor:Camper). The campus includes a charming performance lodge, outdoor Shed stage, practice building, and several rehearsal cabins and practice spaces. The campus includes a private lakefront natural sand beach with canoes, paddle boards, and kayaks. Indoor plumbing and modern shower and bathing facilities are adjacent to the cabins. Luzerne Music Center's grounds also include a softball field, full basketball court, volleyball court, dining hall, and administrative building.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Founded in 1980 by Philadelphia Orchestra cellist Bert Phillips and Steinway pianist Toby Blumenthal, Luzerne Music Center aims to provide world-class music instruction for passionate young people in a summer camp environment regardless of their financial circumstance. Musicians ages 9 to 18 come from all over the world to train at LMC's campus located in the foothills of New York’s Adirondack Park.

Since inception, LMC has maintained strong relations with musicians of the Philadelphia Orchestra and New York City Ballet. Both Junior and Senior session campers regularly visit the Saratoga Performing Arts Center to enjoy world-class performances by these ensembles, among others. Each August, LMC invites several Philadelphia Orchestra musicians to campus for a one-week residency, which includes a side-by-side orchestral reading, masterclasses, and sectionals.

At LMC, campers study music theory and rhythm, train in small and large ensembles, receive daily chamber music coaching, and weekly private lessons. Our campers perform on- and off-campus throughout the summer, and train in a nurturing environment balanced by hard work and enriching group activities.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: French Woods Sports and Arts Center provides the summer of a lifetime in a safe, supportive, supervised and age appropriate environment. Campers completely determine which activities they will participate in. Children are offered a wide range of activities that include sports, arts, technology, extreme sports, circus, rock music, electronic music, dance, water sports, DJ and radio, theater, communications, magic, cooking, role playing games, and equestrian. All that and more rolled up together into one incredible summer experience!

There are six activities per day, each one hour in length; three of these periods are called majors and three are called minors.

Majors are chosen at the beginning of each session and are maintained for two weeks. Minors are chosen daily at breakfast. This lets you concentrate on the things that interest you, while giving you the chance to try something new.

Empowering our campers to feel good about themselves and their accomplishments can increase motivation to try harder, try new activities, continues to build self-confidence, and achieve self-efficacy. 5 Year Olds
As our 5 year old campers transition from Stepping Stones to Main Camp, they will begin to utilize our traditional-sized facilities while participating in enhanced tennis instruction and other athletic activities, American Red Cross swim instruction/recreational swim, nature, music, creative & performing arts and many other exciting activities! Our 5 year old program also features a 'Mini Club' period which allows each group to select from a list of their favorite activities to participate in each day.

Our 5 year olds also participate in our unique, values-based, STARFISH program. The STARFISH program not only supports our camp's mission of teaching children the skills of making and keeping friends while building self-esteem; it creates a safe environment that makes accomplishing that mission possible. Our STARFISH program assists in teaching, promoting and recognizing the values of Sportsmanship, Tolerance, Appreciation, Respect, Friendship, Integrity, Sensitivity and Helpfulness.

6 & 7 Year Olds
Our 6 & 7 year olds take full advantage of our famous 'Club Elective' program on a daily basis, allowing our campers to customize their schedules with their favorite activities! Club options include enhanced tennis instruction and competitive play, musical theatre production, other athletic clinics, innovative studio art projects, and many more!

8 Year Olds
In addition to participating in our great range of traditional activities, our 8 year old campers get the chance to experience the excitement and spirit of teamwork associated with our 'Sports Leagues'. Sports Leagues begin on an every other day basis, alternating with a SECOND 'Club Elective' period. League Teams are divided equally, with the emphasis being put upon good sportsmanship and building self-esteem. Campers may also participate in one of our 'Showtime' musical theatre productions, cook, swim, dance, explore nature, and take advantage everything that our camp program has to offer!

9 & 10 Year Olds / 11 & 12 Year Olds
We recognize that our older campers are looking for a more innovative and customizable summer experience so we give it to them! Our 'Club + Sports Leagues' program allows these senior groups to tailor their summer experience for up to two hours each day. Additionally, these older groups have "flex" periods in their schedule throughout the week which allow their group to once again choose between a list of available activities to participate in. In addition, our older groups enjoy the privilege of venturing off the SRCC grounds on exciting day trips to local attractions and fun, off-site programs.

CAMP FACILITIES: Silver Lake is a picturesque camp, situated on over 300 acres of rolling green hills with a 96-acre private lake. Since opening in 2004, we have been busy improving and upgrading all of our facilities. During that time we have built all new bunks and renovated our basketball, tennis, and volleyball courts. We have also expanded our facilities over the past few summers by adding a new soccer field, "Monster" baseball field, skate park, Pool, and brand new state of the art Gymnastics Facility.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Michael and Shari Baer, owners of Camp Chipinaw, established Silver Lake in 2004 as a session camp that allowed campers to attend for 3, 4, or 7 weeks. Silver Lake incorporates all of the traditions, activities, and spirit of Chipinaw… but does it twice each summer! Simply put, we want to provide campers with the opportunity to go to camp for a shorter amount of time and still get the "full camp" experience.

With state of the art facilities and over 50 activities to choose from, Silver Lake offers a warm family feel. Sports, Arts, Adventure, Digital Media, and Water Sports are just some of the many programs campers can choose from. At Woodmont, staff take that responsibility very seriously and maintain an environment that encourages both safety and health and reinforces a positive self-image. Staff aim to provide campers with opportunities for emotional and physical growth, encourage their natural abilities and instill in them the benefits of participating in a group. CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Counselor's in Training (CIT)

CIT's are campers entering 10th grade. CIT's have the opportunity to work with different age groups each week to experience different ages, activities and counselors. In addition, there are "hands-on experiences" to better prepare you for the role of being a counselor. These include team-building, discussion sessions from your experiences from the week, etc.

Upon completion of the CIT program, you will be eligible to work at Woodmont in some capacity which will be determined at the beginning of our hiring season. A weekly out of camp trip is also included in the program.

How we work:
During our after school programs, summer camps, and workshops, we use the creative arts as a space to teach peace education. Our ultimate goal is to build a school where youth are involved with peace education during their academic studies. Our main rule is, 'All ideas are good'. Our programs aim:
- To provide a fun, safe space for students of all ages, backgrounds and learning styles.

Kids Creative has at its core what we call the 6 C's of peacemaking. Each of these C's is essential to the building of communities in each of our programs. We have divided these into Upper Case and lower case C's.

Community—The overarching “C”. The ultimate key to building peace is being able to coexist with those around you, and to build a functional community where issues are raised and resolved in a constructive manner.

Confidence Building—The basic “C”. You have to be able to accept yourself, and be happy with who you are in order to feel an essential part of building a peaceful community.

Conflict Resolution—The tough “C”. The most difficult aspect of working with others is resolving problems that arise in a manner that is beneficial for all involved. It is possible to easily find temporary solutions, but this is only the first step to conflict resolution. For true peacebuilding, one must also know how to find solutions that are sustainable, meets the needs of the community, and take into account the often numerous factors that contributed to causing and perpetuating the conflict.

Collaboration—The cooperative “C”. No community exists in a bubble, and it is important that members feel invested in working together and finding sustainable solutions. Without collaboration, solutions are only temporary.

Creativity—The innovative “C”. Sometimes, we need to think outside the box and use our imaginations to solve conflicts that arise. We have to be open to the ideas of others to make everyone feel comfortable.

Cookies—The fun “C”. One of our strongest beliefs is that the more enjoyable it is to be a part of a community, the more people are going to want to be involved in sustaining it. People must feel like they are having fun in order to be invested in solving conflicts and building a peaceful, equitable society.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: New Country Day Camp is an oasis for children growing up in New York City. All of our campers and staff ride the camp bus from stops in North Brooklyn and downtown Manhattan to the beautiful Henry Kaufman Campgrounds on Staten Island. Our older campers spend their mornings with their friends in camp groups of kids their age. In their groups, they'll have an opportunity to try all of our camp programs. In the afternoons, campers spend time in program units which they choose independently on Mondays, and which last the week through Friday.

Our 5 year old program also features a 'Mini Club' period which allows each group to select from a list of their favorite activities to participate in each day.

6 & 7 Year Olds
Our 6 & 7 year olds take full advantage of our famous 'Club Elective' program on a daily basis, allowing our campers to customize their schedules with their favorite activities! Club options include our famous 'Showtime' musical theatre production, athletic clinics, innovative studio art projects, and many more! 8 Year Olds

Sports Leagues begin on an every other day basis, alternating with a SECOND 'Club Elective' period. League Teams are divided equally with emphasis being good sportsmanship and building self-esteem. At Hampton Country Day Camp, we recognize that our Seniors are looking for a more innovative and customizable summer experience so we give it to them! Our 'Club + Sports Leagues' program allows Seniors to tailor their summer experience for up to two hours each day. Additionally, Seniors have "Flex" periods in their schedule throughout the week which allow their group to once again choose between a list of available activities to participate in. Camp SAY was established with one goal in mind – to provide children who stutter with a highly immersive and accepting summer camp experience that builds self-confidence and helps children develop the vital communication skills they need to fully express themselves without fear, bullying or ridicule.

Complementing our wide range of exciting traditional camp activities, Camp SAY provides each child with unique experiences that challenge them in a safe way, creating a strong sense of achievement and helping them confidently navigate the unique issues that children who stutter face in the everyday world.

STAFF
The staff is dedicated to creating a safe and accepting environment where every child can find their beautiful and unique voice. Approximately 80% of children return to camp. Parents and campers tell us it’s our staff and unique approach that consistently exceed expectations, making Camp SAY such a rewarding and transformative experience.

We provide an excellent Staff-to-Camper Ratio: With Camp’s leadership team, camp counselors, specialized activities staff and more, our staff-to-camper ratio is 1 staff member for every 2-3 campers. In addition, each bunk is staffed at night with at least 2 counselors for an average of 6-10 campers.

Counselors complete a comprehensive training program to support the social, emotional and physical needs of all our campers. Staff development includes leadership training and extensive information about stuttering, camper health and safety, camp philosophy, policies and procedures and much more. Additionally, Specialized Activities Staff is carefully selected based on their skills and expertise.

Talented Nursing Team: Your child’s safety and well being is our highest priority. Our camp is staffed by a full-time, on-site registered nurse who can properly dispense any family-provided medications and can access medical specialists as needed.

Traveling to Camp SAY: Campers come from all around the country and abroad. We work closely with families to make each child’s trip to Camp SAY as safe and enjoyable as possible. We schedule a chaperoned flight from the southeast to New York City. Children taking individual flights are welcomed at the gate by camp staff. Upon arrival at the airport, camp staff helps navigate baggage claim, arrange check-in for return flights, and board campers on the bus for a fun trip to Camp SAY.

Our Personalized Approach: In order to fully personalize your child’s camp experience, our team obtains detailed preferences in advance of camp from you and your child – from their activities to seemingly small yet important details. CAMP FACILITIES: Each of our cabins is equipped with complete bathrooms/ showers, electricity, porches and plenty of space. (No bunk beds!) Cabins are designed to hold between 5-8 campers with a minimum of 3 staff members living in each cabin so that we can maintain our 2:1 camper counselor ratio.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Located along a secluded nine-mile lake in the Adirondacks of New York State is a private/ independent seven-week residential camp for 130 children from across the United States and around the world. Camp Northwood is oriented toward children with low self-esteem, immature social skill development, high functioning autism, Asperger's Syndrome and learning challenges in need of a structured and supportive, socially therapeutic summer experience. Northwood's program, developed and supervised by an outstanding staff of special educators, focuses on the development of independence, social skills, self-image and the maintenance of academic skills.

Each Northwood camper participates in a fully non-competitive, socially oriented, main-streamed styled camp program. A camper/ counselor ratio of 2:1 provides a high level of individualization at activities and in the cabin setting insuring success. In addition to traditional camp activities, each child participates in an individually designed academic program intended to help maintain current skill levels throughout the summer season. CAMP FACILITIES: Our SUNY Purchase College location is a sprawling 500-acre campus located in the heart of beautiful Westchester County. It offers endless acres of playing fields, training areas, and 2 new floodlit turf, football, and baseball fields. As many as six full soccer fields, 12 short-sided fields, and NCAA regulation baseball and softball diamonds are expertly maintained for daily use. Facilities also include 14 newly-surfaced deco tennis courts (6 lighted), 3 full indoor, and 3 outdoor basketball courts.

Campers will also utilize 3 air-conditioned indoor gymnasiums, racquetball and squash courts, training rooms, an Olympic-size indoor swimming pool, a newly-renovated performance center, and a video analysis room.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: The Youth Leadership Program (YLP) combines the fun of being a participant with important life skills such as leadership, personal development, teamwork, and communication, all under the watchful eyes of our experienced educators and coaches.

Working with guidance from our camp and program director(s), YLP participants will observe and assist in all aspects of the camp program and daily activities, while receiving performance feedback in a constructive environment, helping to build self-confidence and interpersonal skills.

Mill Basin Day Camp is dedicated to providing an exciting and fulfilling camp experience for both children and their parents by providing fun, recreational, social and educational activities.

We have grown over the past 15 years to become the most popular summer day camp program for kids in the Brooklyn & Queens areas. At least that’s what the kids tell us.

Our staff consists of professionals, many of whom continue to work in child related fields throughout the year. Our directorial staff is comprised of licensed professionals with many years camp experience. All the group leader staff are trained in CPR and First Aid. Our Aquatics programs are staffed by certified and licensed personnel, as required by the NYC Department of Health and American Red Cross.

Safety is our highest priority at Mill Basin Day Camp. We equip our staff and facility with the latest and most modern safety and technological products in order to maintain constant contact and security both on and off the camp facility. Campers also receive Camp Gear which they use throughout the summer.

Our modern, fully air-conditioned facility offers a wide range of activities for children entering Pre-K thru 9th grade in the upcoming September scholastic year. There are Five (5) individual camp programs. Each camp has its own unique and innovative program that best suits the needs of the varying ages of our campers.

There is Pre-School Camp for kids entering Pre-K and Kindergarten. Adventures Camp is for kids entering grades 1 and 2, Stars Camp entering grades 3, 4 & 5.

For older campers there is Explorers Camp for kids going to grades 6 & 7 and they travel as part weeks doing alot of day trips. Finally, there is Teens Camp for teens going to grades 8 & 9 and they are a travel camp. Each group has various methods for integrating new campers into their groups.

Head Counselors are trained to make sure that all campers are introduced to the other campers and are made to feel part of the group in the first few minutes of the camp day. Directors are also at hand to help new campers make any adjustments that they may need.

The typical camp day begins with a first activity at 9:00 am. There are 3 periods in the morning, then lunch, 3 periods in the afternoon. Activities are both indoor and outdoor and are balanced accordingly. Pre-School dismissal times and activities are a bit different and will be explained at a pre-camp parents meeting for registered families.

We realize and understand the pressures facing today's working parents so we have designed a very flexible registration program. Changing your summer schedule by adding, subtracting or changing weeks is never a problem at any time. If summer school is a worry for you, our program is entirely refundable at any time prior to the first day of camp.

CAMP FACILITIES: We have a 61,000 sq.ft. fully air-conditioned recreation facility with a 24,000 sq. ft. main arena and a 12,000 sq.ft. auxiliary gymnasium. The Main Arena has seating for all campers, counselors and parents. CAMP FACILITIES: At Timber Lake West, Campers live in modern, paneled cabins called bunks. Each bunk is equipped with full bathrooms and storage space for each camper's belongings. Three to four counselors and eight to ten campers make up each bunk.

Campers make their beds, care for their own belongings and practice good personal hygiene. Our professional housekeeping staff maintains and sanitizes the bathrooms daily. A complete packing list and Parents' Manual make the process of preparing for camp as easy and convenient as possible.

The cabin or bunk is where campers learn to live together as a group, to share and to respect each other. We see bunk living as the core of the camp experience - central to our mission of teaching children the skills of making and keeping friends.

The work-out sessions are held during an elective or swim period for those campers yearning to improve their skills, practice for upcoming tournaments or play at a higher level of competition. These campers get a chance to work on their mechanics through drills, practicing game situations, improving their mental preparation, building self-esteem and getting into or staying in great physical shape.

Two periods each day are devoted to swimming and water sports. Our emphasis is on safety, instruction and fun. Our experienced Red Cross certified waterfront staff provides special attention to improving swim skills with the main emphasis, of course, on safety. Timber Lake West's two heated pools set us apart from others. Our Olympic size pool makes free swim a favorite activity while our completely private spring-fed lake, right in the heart of camp, provides the thrill of water-skiing and an extensive boating program, featuring instruction in canoeing, kayaking, row boating, surf bikes, paddle bikes, banana boating and water skiing.

Adventure at Timber Lake West comes alive when our campers challenge themselves to try activities they have never done before. Whether it’s hiking in the mountains, scaling our 35 foot climbing wall or soaring down our zip line, camp is meant to be an adventure.

Our low ropes course gives campers the opportunity to work together toward a common goal while building friendships, self-esteem and self-confidence.

As part of our program each bunk meets with our trained and experienced staff on our low ropes/team building course and on overnight camp outs. As a cohesive unit, the campers work together to accomplish the goals that they set for themselves at the beginning of the four week session.

Each day campers select two activities from a wide variety of athletic, adventure oriented, and performing or creative arts electives. Combined with our scheduled sports and waterfront activities, the Elective periods allow campers to customize their summer program. With over thirty activities to choose from, our extensive electives feature experienced teachers and coaches to ensure that campers get the highest quality of instruction in the areas of their greatest interest:

Every Wednesday is uniquely programmed for our entire campus. After a well-deserved later wake-up and breakfast on our campus, campers head out to a special morning of electives. Before bedtime, campers stop with friends at our Planet West Canteen, complete with snacks, Pop-a-Shot, ping pong, pool tables and air hockey.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Our Teen programs are strong and we’re proud that we continue to attract returning older campers year after year. In spite of all of the other choices that high school-aged children have in today’s world, the large majority of our campers choose to return to Timber Lake West all the way through the end of their Teen summers.

The Timber Lake West Teen Program begins with diverse programming, more day trips out of camp, more choice and flexibility daily, a later wake-up (they ARE teenagers, after all), many community service opportunities and strong staff and supervision. Our Teens alternate between a two-day Whitewater Rafting trip or a two-day trip to Hershey/Dorney Parks.

Our Teens are also part of our apprenticeship program in camp, through which they choose a specialty area and an age group with which they think they might like to work. For several hours each week, they will be assigned to work with these groups so that they can get a feel for coming back as Junior Counselors.

We provide structure, supervision, feedback and training so that they are successful AND prepared to be part of our staff!

CAMP FACILITIES: Summit has approx. 30 traditional wooden cabins with electric and private facilities in each cabin. Our main buildings include our newly refinished dining hall, air-conditioned recreational hall, our medical facility, and a newly built outdoor pavilion. Summit utilizes three A frame buildings for our arts programs, a wilderness treehouse with camp fire area for cookouts, newly resurfaced basketball/tennis courts, high/low ropes course with climbing wall, heated pool, private lake, nature fields with a farm area, martial arts dojo, go-kart track with 3 karts. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Summit Camp is a co-ed sleepaway camp for ages 8-19 years with issues of attention: AD/HD, HFA/Asperger’s Disorder, and/or learning differences. Using the frame of a traditional sleepaway camp, we create platforms of success where our campers can experience outcomes such as improved self-esteem, lasting friendships, and increased independence. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Bonjour NY is a French immersion summer camp located in the heart of New York City. We offer weekly registration from 1 to 9 weeks. Bonjour NY was elected "best camp attended in NY" by our families, is accredited by the American Camp Association and is a NYC licensed.

Our campers spend a lot of time outdoors playing sports, water games, swimming, going out on fun trips to local farms, making bread at local French bakeries.... The staff engages in French only with the campers through live games, songs, arts...

Our staff is fluent in French and comes from all over the world. All staff members are fully trained by Bonjour NY and many are also certified in Advanced First Aid, CPR for the Professional rescuers, lifeguarding...Everybody is carefully selected and a full background check is done on all employees. CAMP FACILITIES: Forrestel is located on a sprawling 800 acre farm with a variety of landscape features. Campers enjoy a large number of activities on our fields, streams, woodlands and campground. The buildings include a beautiful 1825 Greek Revival farmhouse, barn complex, eating house, tennis court, indoor arena, many outdoor rings and our campsite with modern shower house and large fire pit. The campers are housed in tent cabins. New in 2014 is our first cabin for the youngest campers located adjacent to the shower house.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Forrestel’s horseback riding programm is a very unique one, which offers 2 programs; Horsemanship 1 and Horsemanship 2.

Our international and local riding counselors are all qualified, experienced and passionate about teaching our campers to ride. The campers are taught on one of Forrestel’s family owned, well schooled horses, who are carefully matched to the child with age, size, ability and experience taken into consideration. Campers also have the option of bringing their own horse/pony with them to camp.

Riding instruction at Forrestel includes structured ring work and cross country riding. Our campers can choose to focus on different areas of their riding which can include; hunt seat equitiation, dressage, eventing, cross country and show jumping.

We also have our speciality horsey activities, which are all firm favourites. They include pony club games, trail riding, trips to the horse pond and overnight, and decorate a horse.

Within our Riding Program we also offer a stable management option, which includes all aspects of horse care from mucking out, trailer safety, preparing for shows, braiding and veterinary care.

Our campus includes over 11 acres of fields and playgrounds, a pool, and outdoor classroom pond center. CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: The majority of our camp staff is chosen from graduates of our two year CIT program for students entering 9th and 10th grades. 9th Graders are placed in groups and learn how to manage the campers, the schedule, and the various trials and tribulations of any job. They also take a weekly class with our CIT coordinator. Those CIT's entering 10th grade enjoy added responsibility and leadership opportunities and have a weekly class with the Director of Summer Programs, during which they learn job skills such as resume building, interview skills, and public speaking.

All CIT's receive certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Babysitting through the Red Cross.
